About This Course

Awaken the Inner Light Within — Shambhavi Mahamudra Siddhi.

Shambhavi Mahamudra is the doorway through which the seeker begins to taste the boundless. It is a sacred yogic process designed to align the mind, prana, and awareness into a single, luminous thread. When practiced correctly under guidance, it awakens a deep state of stillness where thought dissolves into consciousness itself, revealing the balance of Shiva and Shakti within.

Guided by Yog Guru Shree Ashish Yogi Ji, this advance course takes you through sacred prayers, mantras, breathwork, and mudras — Pranayam, Kumbhak, Tratak, Khechari, and Mula Bandha Kriya — every step preparing you for the ultimate meditative state. Through this sacred journey, you don't just practice Shambhavi — you become it.

Philosophical essence

Shambhavi Mahamudra is not just a yog asan — it is a life-transformative spiritual instrument. It is the sacred science through which body, mind, and soul are prepared to experience the highest dimension of existence, so that we too can touch the same infinite bliss the ancient yogis once realized.

As breath steadies and the eyes become still, the energy of life begins to flow upward through the Sushumna Nadi, uncoiling dormant forces within and unveiling clarity, peace, and an indescribable sense of oneness.

Who can practice this course?

This is an advance course involving subtle and secret yogic techniques. While anyone can approach it with reverence and discipline, it is especially suitable for those with a stable foundation in:

  • Basic Tratak, Pranayam, and asana practice
  • A regular, disciplined meditation practice
  • Willingness to be guided closely through subtle inner experiences
  • Openness to mantra japa and energy-body awareness

That said, even committed beginners can approach this sadhana when guided properly — without Jyoti Tratak, the door to Shambhavi Mahamudra Siddhi remains closed, and every step is taught progressively.

The role of Tratak meditation

Jyoti Tratak — the steady gazing upon the flame of a desi ghee deepak — is the heart of this path and a mandatory step before entering deeper practices. As one fixes the gaze upon the unmoving flame, the eyes become gateways to stillness, and the wandering mind begins to dissolve.

After Jyoti Tratak, Antah Tratak — inner gazing — begins when the eyes gently close and awareness is directed toward the afterimage of the flame. This subtle practice refines perception, allowing one to perceive the invisible dimensions of energy that eventually culminate in Shambhavi Siddhi.

The core practice

Shambhavi Mahamudra is the culmination of the preparatory practices — the sacred meeting point of energy, awareness, and stillness. It involves holding the gaze in a particular inner direction while maintaining awareness of breath and subtle sensations, the body remaining still, the mind alert yet quiet.

Fix the gaze gently inward and upward. As breath slows and the eyes still, thought loses its grip — the being settles into effortless equipoise, and Shakti begins her ascent toward union with Shiva.

In yogic scriptures, Shambhavi is considered the royal gesture of enlightenment — the gateway from concentration to meditation, and from meditation to samadhi. Regular practice harmonizes the nervous system, balances emotions, and unlocks intuitive insight.

Gaze & subtle body activation

The practice of Shambhavi unfolds in two movements of gaze, each aligning with your energetic anatomy. Together, they awaken the passage through which the energy of consciousness rises:

Outer Gaze

Jyoti Tratak

Steady gazing on the flame — purifying, focusing, and kindling the inner light.

Inner Gaze

Antah Tratak

Gazing upon the afterimage — unveiling the subtle body's inner states.

When both movements mature, the Sushumna Nadi is activated, and awakened energy begins its ascent from the base of the body toward the Dasam Dwar — the tenth gate at the crown, the ultimate aim of Shambhavi Mahamudra Siddhi.

Common experiences & guidance

  • Colors, forms, or emptiness appearing during Antah Tratak — reflections of inner shifts, not hallucinations
  • Warmth, tingling, or pulsation as the pranic field awakens
  • Restlessness during Kumbhak (breath retention) as the mind resists stillness
  • Over-effort in holding the gaze instead of allowing it to settle naturally

Each experience holds unique meaning, best understood under the guidance of a mentor. It is essential not to rush the process — Shambhavi Siddhi is a gradual, sacred unfolding, not a quick-fix meditation.

The importance of a Guru

Practices like Khechari Mudra and Kod Ki Sthapna are among the most secret and revered yogic techniques, and must be approached with reverence and precision. It is highly recommended to undertake this course under the guidance of a qualified teacher — a realized guide who can protect, stabilize, and assist you through each subtle energetic transition.

"Listening becomes worship, and silence becomes the ultimate mantra — this is the sacred journey of Shambhavi Mahamudra Siddhi."
